The event addressed the issue of fake news and its repercussions in the corporate environment.
The 23rd edition of Business Communication Meeting The event brought together Production Engineering students last Saturday, November 30th. The theme of this semester's event was "Information Manipulation and its Impacts on Business Communication." With the goal of fostering dialogue and presenting different perspectives on the topic, there were lectures by experts and an exhibition of student work.

Professor Sandra Terciotti, PhD in Literature and specialist in Corporate Communication, spoke about the impacts of fake news on corporations. Different types of misinformation, such as false representations of reality or distortions of facts, can negatively affect a company's reputation. In this context, the importance of corporate communication becomes even more evident.
Next, Professor Carlos Cerqueira spoke about communication regarding global warming. The phenomenon, which has been questioned by segments of the population and even by authorities, is a fact, according to Professor Cerqueira. The PhD in Chemistry and specialist in the Environment presented data and scientific research that prove that the average global temperature has been gradually rising. Misinformation on the subject can benefit industries that emit pollutants, such as producers of oil, natural gas, and coal.
Finally, the students from the Business Communication II course presented their work on the subject. The event takes place every semester and is coordinated by Professor Karlene Campos. In addition to the final presentation, the students participate in all stages of organizing the Meeting, from the reception to the closing ceremony.
