Last Saturday, February 22nd, ESEG College, part of the Etapa Group, celebrated the graduation of its Business Administration, Economics, and Production Engineering students from the class of 2024.2. The graduation ceremony took place in auditorium B2 of the Ana Rosa Campus.
The ceremony was opened by master of ceremonies Angelo Vieira, who highlighted the importance of the event: “We are here today to celebrate every effort, both collective and individual, and to rejoice in the achievement of such a significant moment, graduation,” he said.
The official ceremony was attended by the Coordinator of Educational Projects, Dr. Luiz Alberto Neves Filho; the Coordinator of the Administration and Economics (Economic Sciences) courses, Prof. Dr. José Guilherme Ferraz; the patron of the Administration class, Prof. Me. Edgard Rodrigues; the patron of the Economics class, Prof. Dr. Romane Fortes Santos Bernardo; the Coordinator of the Production Engineering course, Prof. Dr. Fernando Ryoji Kakugawa; the patron of the Production Engineering class, Prof. Dr. Fernando Rogério Jardim; and the Academic Secretary, Vanessa dos Anjos Nardin.
After the graduates entered and the National Anthem was played, the professors spoke to express the importance of the moment. The patron of the Administration class, Professor Edgard Rodrigues, reminded the students that this is only the first step: "It is the beginning of a journey full of opportunities, where you have earned the qualifications to work in a wide range of sectors.".
The patron of the Economics class, Professor Dr. Romane Fortes Santos Bernardo, expressed her gratitude for being chosen as the class's patron. “It is always an honor and a joy to be part of this moment, as it gratifies my presence as an academic, through learning, interaction, and humanization. The classroom makes me more human every day, and that is priceless.” Romane also left a message for the graduates: “We must remember that we always have something new to learn, always something to improve in ourselves. And that is, perhaps, the great wonder of life.”.
Following the speeches, the patron of the Production Engineering class, Professor Dr. Fernando Rogério Jardim, began his speech by thanking the parents and family for their support during the graduation period. "In these 5 years, we filled your sky with stars and, from now on, it is up to you to create a constellation," he emphasized.
The valedictorian of the Business Administration course, Renê Camargo Neves Santos, had the task of speaking on behalf of the class: “Today is a special day that will be etched in the memory of each of us. I want to express my gratitude to everyone present who has been part of our journey. Over the years, we have faced demands, difficult tests, and daily responsibilities, and it hasn't always been easy. But today, we realize that each challenge has made us stronger and more confident, and we have learned that no one walks alone.”.
Mariana Cavalcanti Guedes, valedictorian of the Economics class, also expressed her gratitude: “We managed to move forward, each in our own way. Between formulas, theories, and lots of reading, we understood that economics goes far beyond graphs. None of this would have been possible without our teachers, parents, and friends.”.
Matheus Cardoso Perdomo, representing the Production Engineering class, thanked his colleagues and family. “These were five years of great learning, during which we went through a pandemic and had to reinvent ourselves. We will miss our friends, the University, and the professors. Now we are graduated and ready to enter the job market. I wish us all success and much determination and courage,” he emphasized.
Still in a celebratory mood, Alan Souza de Andrade expressed his gratitude to the teachers, a fundamental part of this achievement: “Today is a special day, and these have been intense years with many challenges. We managed to overcome each obstacle and are prepared for the future because we have teachers who encouraged and prepared us. Education goes beyond numbers and lies in the creativity of solving the problems that arise, because being a teacher is a noble mission. Our thanks for teaching us not to give up on ourselves.”.
In a moment of great emotion, the graduates presented roses to their families in gratitude for their unconditional support throughout their academic journey. Following the event, the graduates took their professional oath and received their course completion certificates.
