Saturday, August 24th, was a day to celebrate the achievement of our Business Administration, Economics, and Production Engineering graduates from the 2024.1 semester. The graduation ceremony brought together friends, family, faculty, and staff from ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa – in auditorium J3 of the Ana Rosa Campus, where they shared the moment when the graduates formally transitioned from students to professionals.

The Academic Director of ESEG, Professor Dimas Ferreira, began the ceremony by thanking everyone for their presence, and immediately afterwards, the master of ceremonies, Angelo Vieira, spoke about the celebratory moment: “Today, we are here to recognize each collective and individual effort and to celebrate this very important event, graduation.”.

The official table was composed of Prof. Dimas Alberto Ferreira, Academic Director; Prof. José Guilherme Ferraz, coordinator of the Administration and Economics courses; Prof. Fernando Ryoji Kakugawa, coordinator of the Production Engineering course; Prof. Edgard Rodrigues, patron of the Administration class; Prof. Romane Fortes, patron of the Economics class; and Prof. Leonardo Macarrão, patron of the Production Engineering class.

After the national anthem was played, Caio Barreto Torres, a graduating Business Administration student, gave a speech on behalf of all the students, about the joys, difficulties, and triumphs throughout their years of study. “This whole process was difficult, but today we see that it was all worth it. I like to emphasize one word: gratitude. I thank all the professors at ESEG who were fundamental in allowing us to be here today,” the graduate stressed.

Immediately afterwards, the class's patron for Business Administration, Professor Edgard Rodrigues, took the floor: "Today we celebrate the achievement of a diploma and, beyond that, the beginning of a journey full of opportunities, because this diploma is a passport to countless professional possibilities.".

Continuing, the Economics student's patron, Professor Dr. Romane Fortes, offered some advice. “This moment calls you to responsibility and a sense of community. Beyond celebrating, my advice is to always act with integrity and ethics and think of society as a whole, because we are a diverse country. Carry your humanity with you and study. Never stop studying, because learning is living,” she emphasized.

Professor Leonardo Macarrão, the commencement speaker for the Production Engineering class, also left a message for the graduates: “All the difficulties you have faced so far serve to strengthen and prepare you. At ESEG, we have been able to have a close and interactive relationship to monitor the progress of each one of you. This gives me complete certainty that you are very well prepared.”.

The graduation ceremony was also marked by special tributes paid to the faculty: Professor José Guilherme Campos by the Administration class; Professor Adriano Giacomini Morais by the Economics class; and Professor Thales Roberto Sakamoto by the Production Engineering class. Ms. Marilene Tenório Cavalcante was chosen by the students as an outstanding collaborator for her active participation throughout the students' journey at ESEG.

But the emotions didn't stop there. Graduate Pamela Gonçalves Pereira gave a beautiful speech in honor of her parents, friends, and family: "When we doubted our potential, we received a word of encouragement, a comforting hug, and you showed us that we were not alone and that it was worth continuing.".

After the moment of honoring the parents, which continued with the distribution of roses to those present, the now-graduated students took the oaths of their respective professions and proceeded to receive their course completion certificates.

Before the ceremony concluded, awards were also presented for Best Graduation Project and Best Academic Performance for each of the graduating programs.

In the Business Administration course, the Best Final Project award went to Leonardo Girotto Bariani, with the theme “Credit Instruments and Agribusiness: A Study of the Relationships of the Credit Market and the Main Metrics of the Sector,” supervised by Melissa Velasco Schleich. The award for Best Academic Performance went to Pedro Henrique Borchis da Silva.

In the Economics course, the Best Academic Performance award went to Matheus Erustes Stirbolov. And finally, in the Production Engineering course, Diego Martins Leite received the Best Final Project award with “Integrated management of quality and corporate safety: an approach for continuous improvement in financial institutions”, supervised by Jean Pierre Garcia, and the now-graduate, Julia dos Santos Sales, received the title of Best Academic Performance.

To conclude the ceremony, Professor Dimas Ferreira left a message for the now-graduated engineers, economists, and administrators: “You possess the tools to lead and overcome any difficulty that may arise. Be leaders, shape our future, and always keep studying.”.

ESEG congratulates each of our graduates for their effort, dedication, and achievements, confident that they are ready to face the challenges of the job market with confidence and competence.
