Aline Barbosa's doctoral thesis, which addressed violence against women, was awarded a prize at the largest Management congress in Latin America.

The scientific article written by Aline Barbosa and Marcello Romani, professors at ESEG, was published in the Revista de Administração Contemporânea (RAC) in the topic of Organizational and Individual Behavior. Considered by Qualis Capes as internationally excellent, the journal addresses research in the area of Administration and Accounting Sciences. Last year, during the XLIII ANPAD Meeting – EnANPAD 2019, the article was awarded in the area of Organizational Studies.

To be published in RAC, the article goes through two evaluation stages: one for acceptability by the editors; and another through double-blind peer review. Through online submission, the article approved in the first phase is sent to reviewers who have experience in the subject matter. Among the necessary characteristics for the article to be accepted is a new direction on Business Management that decision-makers can use to develop a framework or theory.

“We see a great opportunity not only for us, but for ESEG, to have an article included in an internationally recognized publication. Although it is a journal in the field of Administration and Accounting Sciences, other areas can benefit from the published research, which is positive for the multidisciplinary nature required by professionals today,” says Professor Aline Barbosa.

The purpose of the journal is to foster communication between companies, industries, and institutions. In this way, issues related to business management can be addressed from various perspectives. "The topic is current and highly relevant, both regionally and internationally, which allowed the article to gain recognition by receiving an award last year and now to be published in the Journal of Contemporary Administration," states Professor Marcello Romani.

Titled "The Facets of Women Commodification: Violence in the University Context in Administration," the article was written as part of Professor Aline Barbosa's doctoral thesis and aims to "provide a perspective to help transform violence against women as a whole," the professor reports.

ESEG understands the importance of research and encourages faculty and students. Therefore, its curriculum includes Research Centers in Logistics, Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, Economics and Finance, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and Applied Creativity. These six themes welcome students from all courses offered by ESEG, as the institution values the pluralistic education of its students.

“Developing research during undergraduate studies allows students to develop analytical skills, in addition to improving their resumes not only in the academic world but also in the job market. The support from ESEG to students, and for us, the faculty, is essential for deepening our studies,” emphasizes Professor Romani.
