A visiting professor from the Department of Psychology at Harvard University spoke about the adolescent brain, its opportunities and vulnerabilities.
On June 26th, ESEG held an edition of the ESEG Cycle of Education and Transformation. With the theme "Neuroscience Applied to Education," the event featured guest speaker Professor Fernando Louzada, PhD in Psychology from the University of São Paulo, specializing in Neuroscience and Behavior.
Louzada brought the perspective of Neuroscience to the discussion of student learning at home and in the classroom. "Many practices used today are not supported by scientific studies," he emphasized.

The relationships between sleep, learning, and academic performance were highlighted in the presentation. According to Louzada, one of the challenges for parents, educators, and students is setting limits on the use of games and electronic devices. "Screen use cannot compromise interaction with people or interfere with the performance of other activities," explained the specialist.
The event was streamed live and the full recording can be found on the ESEG Facebook page.
Seeking to bring to the university the debate on teaching practices, knowledge acquisition, the job market, and society, ESEG periodically holds lectures and debates with experts on subjects such as Ethics and Citizenship and Neuroscience Applied to Education.
