ESEG's Data Science course is now accepting applications for 2021.

ESEG will have another Data Science course. Registration is open for the complete three-module course or for individual modules. The course lasts nine months. The 2021 class will begin in April.

Professionals from any field who wish to learn more about data science can take the course; some programming knowledge is recommended. To understand the applicant's level of knowledge, the coordinator conducts an interview and determines the appropriate module. Therefore, those who do not know programming languages should begin their studies before those who already know how to program.

“The distinguishing feature of the Data Science course at ESEG is its strong foundation in Statistics and the resolution of business cases. The training adds significant value to various professions, allowing professionals to better utilize data for decision-making,” states Professor Marcelo Dias, coordinator of the Data Science course at ESEG.

Python, Analytics, and Machine Learning are the three modules that divide the content in pursuit of "a better understanding of the parts of Modeling, Statistics, Programming, and complex data analysis," adds the professor. Furthermore, the schedule covers both theory and practice to provide a comprehensive education by the end of the period.

The course curriculum focuses on the following areas: statistical analysis; machine learning; data engineering, mining, capture, cleaning, and visualization; ethics and information security; and the application of data for decision-making.

This benefits data scientists, since data is now a crucial asset for companies in today's competitive market. Knowing how to correctly interpret this data and translate it into information leads to more assertive decision-making across various sectors of a company – from sales strategy to distribution. Students will learn to apply the latest statistical and computational methods to complex databases. By the end of the course, students will be able to work with data analysis.
