This week (November 4th), law students from the first to the fifth semester visited the OAB-SP Institutional Headquarters, where administrative meetings, courses, and lectures take place, and where the offices are located.
At the beginning of the visit, the students had the opportunity to attend a lecture on the history of the OAB (Brazilian Bar Association), learning more about its institutional structure and its participation in important events in the Brazilian state.
Next, they were able to visit the Main Auditorium, where they could sit in the speakers' seats to understand the workings and dynamics of the presentations that take place there. Following that, the students attended a lecture about the OAB (Brazilian Bar Association) universe, showcasing the services and organizations involved.
Finally, the students were invited to visit the President's office and the council and inter-institutional meeting room, giving them the opportunity to learn more about the President's routine and some of the other activities of the OAB (Brazilian Bar Association).
The students were very pleased with the welcome from the OAB-SP (São Paulo Bar Association) and excited about the importance and essential role of the institution in the legal foundations of São Paulo. “As a professor, I feel honored to enable and accompany this visit from our students, which instilled a sense of class identity in them. It is important for them to understand that they will belong to this entity, so important for Democracy, in the future, as well as to understand how the practice of their profession will work,” emphasizes Professor Fernando Couto, coordinator of the Law degree program.
