The new students' week was busy and full of important topics.
On August 15th, new Computer Engineering and Production Engineering students at ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa – began their first semester academic activities with a special program. In the first week, students participated in lectures covering topics relevant to their personal and professional growth. Furthermore, the new students learned how ESEG is a fundamental part of their educational process and what unique advantages the college offers to promote their individual development.
On the first day of class, Professor Marcelo Dias, general coordinator and coordinator of the Production Engineering course, introduced the students to the university environment and presented the soft skills – abilities and competencies – highly valued by the job market. On that occasion, with the aim of motivating and inspiring the freshmen to continue their constant evolution and learning, the professor shared his professional and personal experiences to discuss how he built his career and how they led him to become the professional he is today.

Next, Professor Pablo Ganassim explained about ESEG International, the Faculty's exchange program. Through partnerships with various foreign institutions, students have the opportunity to enhance their studies through international experiences at renowned academic institutions abroad.
On the second day of activities, the newcomers were able to absorb some of the current context of the job market, as well as the trends and areas of work that are most seeking qualified professionals. The Director of Special Projects, Dimas Ferreira, presented to the students how the sectors will behave in the future and what paths to take to achieve a successful career. On the same day, Professor Pablo Ganassim gave a brief explanation of the internal processes for accessing the Student Portal, as well as its respective tools. Another important point of his presentation was to emphasize the importance of the leveling classes, prepared with the purpose of instructing the new students so that everyone can follow the activities under the same understanding parameter.

Following the schedule, on Wednesday (17), the new Engineering students listened to Professor Edgard Rodrigues talk about the importance of learning English and how to enhance their resumes to secure good internship opportunities. The professor reinforced that the gateway to the job market is through good preparation and enrichment of the resume. Following this, Simone Bortoletto, responsible for the Student Support Sector, explained the actions promoted by the department, thus presenting one of ESEG's great differentiators for an excellent education. To conclude the evening, Professor Rafael Budaibes gave a short lecture on how to develop a good study plan, in order to teach students how they could reconcile learning with personal activities, with the aim of obtaining the maximum possible performance.
Finally, on the last day of the lecture series, the future engineers learned more about the Self-Assessment Committee (CPA), used to self-evaluate various elements within the Institution and thus ensure the quality of education offered to students. In short, Professor Rodrigo Aquino, coordinator of the Computer Engineering course, concluded the week's program by explaining how ESEG incorporates Artificial Intelligence into its curriculum. Highly attuned to the demands of the job market, the Etapa Group College proposes to integrate the teaching system with technology as a way to foster the professional development of its students, enabling them to enter the field and work in diverse areas, presenting themselves as well-rounded and qualified engineers.
