The Global Honors Program 2026 was officially launched on May 12th, with a presentation by Raejean Stokes, Cultural Attaché of the US Consulate, who spoke to American exchange students and Brazilian students participating in the Buddy Program at ESEG College, part of the Etapa Group.
The event began with a presentation of the program given by the office coordinator.
ESEG International, Vanessa Martins explained how the cultural exchange program works while receiving students from the partner university, Roberts Wesleyan University.
Following that, Raejean's lecture addressed Brazil's current diplomatic relations with the US, highlighting how a consulate employee's daily work functions in practice, as well as the importance of this work for the coexistence of the two countries.
The guest speaker recounted her professional journey at the American Consulate, sharing her experience in various countries, such as Mexico and Turkey, before arriving in Brazil. The students present also learned more about the daily work routine and had the opportunity to ask questions directly to the representative.
“I had the honor of opening the Global Honors program with a lecture on diplomacy, and being able to share some of my experience and career with the American students. It’s always an incredible opportunity to be at ESEG and help expand the students” knowledge,” the diplomat explained regarding the significance of the lecture for the students.
At the end of the conversation, a question-and-answer session was opened for those present, a great opportunity to ask questions about the profession and learn more about diplomacy and international relations.
Cody Ditkowski, one of the exchange students, shared his impressions of the trip and the program: “I’m loving my trip to Brazil, it’s all very exciting, the people, the food, the culture. This will be an unforgettable experience in my life,” said Cody.
Through this program, which takes place annually, American students have the opportunity to experience an in-depth multicultural immersion in Brazilian culture, with a series of activities and visits that celebrate our culture.
The Global Honors Program 2026 runs until May 27th, and ESEG College welcomes participants to exchange multicultural experiences.
