Students from the Etapa Group College will be able to participate in exchange programs and research with the renowned institution.
ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa has established another partnership with a renowned institution for its Exchange Program. Considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the University of Coimbra began its activities in 1290, offers 330 undergraduate courses, over 100 master's programs, and 69 doctoral programs. The agreement will facilitate the exchange of students and professors, as well as joint research in the areas of Engineering, Management, and Law.

The Center already has a partnership between the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPLeiria) and the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco. Students from the Production Engineering course had the opportunity to participate in an exchange program of up to one year and take advantage of the subjects in Brazil, without delaying their studies. Students from all courses offered by ESEG – Administration, Law, Economics, Computer Engineering and Production Engineering – can participate in the exchange program at one of the three institutions in Portugal.
“There are several courses available and it will depend on each student, but the exchange program must be in an area related to what the student is studying at ESEG. The coordinators of each course analyze the subjects and guide the students so that their studies can be credited at ESEG when they return,” explains Professor Silvia Boarin, PhD, coordinator of postgraduate courses at ESEG.
From our recent partnership with the University of Coimbra, we have a preliminary research project from the Sustainability Center at ESEG. The Coimbra institution has 480 projects, 38 research centers, and 246 national and international patents to attest to the quality of the study.
“The job market highly values students who participate in international exchange programs. This is because students develop many special skills, such as: emotional competence, resulting from the distance from their country, friends, and family; interpersonal skills, as universities abroad have a multicultural environment where students must adapt and interact; and the ability to be more tolerant, confident, flexible, and creative,” states the coordinator.
