A Finance League, initiative of pproject ESEG Tech & Business, On October 23rd, the institution hosted a meeting between students and Nicolas Borsoi, Master in Economics. The event featured a rich discussion about the world of the Financial Market, offering tips and... insights valuable for the participants.

Kayke Dias, an Economics student and member of the League, was responsible for mediating the meeting with Nicolas, also contributing with some analyses on the current situation. One of the topics discussed was monetary policy and how it has influenced the calibration of agents' expectations, adding to the development of students not only in the area of Finance, but in any other. "I think it's very important to bring people like Nicolas to our institution, because his knowledge and experience contribute in a more professional way to the development of students," explains Kayke.

With the theme "Building a Successful Career in the Financial Market and the Great Transition," the lecture highlighted the economist's journey, from its beginnings to the present day, providing analysis and data to give students a more realistic view of the challenges they will face in their lives.

The beginning, besides being challenging, is surrounded by insecurities. Aware of this, the speaker highlighted some points that can alleviate initial tension, among which the desire to grow and develop was emphasized, which can be combined with the idea of being surrounded by intelligent people willing to help their colleagues.

Nicolas also reflected on the beginning of his journey in the field of Finance: “The world I faced is a little different from what they will face, but there are some universal lessons, bringing challenges for those who have just entered the field or have been in it for ten years. Therefore, in this lecture, I wanted to share my knowledge to help them on their journeys.”.

Nicolas shared several tips, such as staying up-to-date and studying the constant changes in the world. One way to do this is by participating in extracurricular projects, for example, the Finance League. Another valuable tip is about interpersonal relationships and how to deal with people, as it helps to keep the balance between anxiety and expectation balanced.

For Marksuel Santos, a law student, participating in the event will bring great benefits to his professional future: “The lecture was incredible. I think it will open many doors of knowledge, because I understand the subject, but participation always brings new learning,” he emphasizes. For Eunice da Silva, also a law student, all types of knowledge are welcome: “The diversity of knowledge in the academic world will boost my career, which is why these ESEG lectures are so important and help contribute to my development,” concludes the student.

Finally, a question and answer session was held, where participants could interact and ask questions directly to Nicolas. The lecture is part of the project's activities. ESEG Tech & Business, which aims to bring real-life stories and challenges to the participants, preparing them for the realities of the job market.
