ESEG qualifies for the quarterfinals in the university futsal championship.

On Saturday, May 28, 2022, the ESEG men's futsal team qualified for the quarterfinals of the Novo Desporto Universitário championship. The match against the Federal University of ABC had to be decided on penalties, with ESEG winning 3-2.

According to assistant coach Alison Lima, it was a difficult match. "The opposing team is very fast and with just a few passes they were already in our area," he commented. During the first half, ESEG had the worst of it. Even managing to recover from the first goal conceded, the first half ended 3-1 for UFABC.

By correcting marking errors and strengthening their attack, the Faculty managed to equalize the score midway through the second half, maintaining it until the end of the match. Extra time was necessary, which also ended in a draw. ESEG emerged victorious in the penalty shootout. According to Alison, it was the team's best game in the competition so far.

The next match is scheduled for next weekend against the Mackenzie Technology team.
