The reuse of polymeric materials based on Sigma as a performance improvement process was the topic of the work presented at ENEGEP.
ESEG's participation in this year's National Meeting of Production Engineering (ENEGEP) was through the presentation of work by alumni and with the involvement of Professor Dr. Silvia Boarin, general coordinator of the Faculty's Postgraduate courses, as vice-coordinator of the Quality Engineering room. Held between October 18 and 21, the largest national event in Production Engineering has already had 41 editions and is organized by the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (ABEPRO).

In this year's edition, ENEGEP's theme was the contributions of Production Engineering to the Management of Sustainable Energy Operations. The work presented by alumni Leonardo Kenzo Ishizawa and Lucas Bortoletto Chiste, and professors Leila Canegusuco and Silvia Boarin, was the "Case Study on the Reuse of Polymeric Materials with Sigma Process Capability Indicators and Performance Improvement". In addition to this participation, the article will also be published in the international journal Journal of Business and Economics, from the United States.
“Inventory management accounts for a significant percentage of a company's capital and is directly related to a factory's efficiency. Therefore, it requires proper control and planning. The objective of this article is to demonstrate the efficiency of the Six Sigma methodology in the recycling process, with performance indicators related to inventory management,” explains Dr. Leila Canegusuco, professor at ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa. “The main concepts covered were the principles of Six Sigma, Sigma capability, DMAIC methodology, and storage capacity. The company did not have an inventory management system for recyclable materials and, after the study, began to use such materials and monitor the development of the method.”.
Participation in events, congresses, and submission of articles to national and international journals is strongly encouraged by ESEG. Through Research Centers, scientific initiation programs, and Graduation Projects (TG), students and graduates of the Faculty have the opportunity to excel in the job market and academia.
