On April 9th, ESEG College, part of the Etapa Group, hosted the lecture “Careers in the financial market: what nobody tells you”, presented by Anderson Godoi, Treasury Director, and Marcelo Galvão, Coordinator of issuances in the market. A capital city reporter from an international bank, to show what really happens behind the scenes in the financial market and the reality for those who work in the field.

The event aimed to foster a conversation with students, bringing the perspectives of the guests based on their experiences and career progression. During the event, the professionals were able to show participants what life is like for those working in this field and answer their questions.

With extensive experience in the wholesale banking sector, Marcelo Galvão shared important tips and highlighted the technical and behavioral skills most valued by banks and financial institutions. "It's important to bring some practical market experience to students who are starting their careers," he explained. The professional also emphasized relevant points such as networking, relationship building, and the chance to seize opportunities that the world offers.

According to Anderson Godoi, the secret to a successful career is building relationships with people. He believes that open communication without fear of rejection and a desire to succeed in life makes a difference in the daily routine of someone working in finance. The guest took the opportunity to show a little of what the day-to-day work is like and the possible career paths available.

“I had the opportunity to talk to the students a little about what a bank and a treasury are, and thus pass on not only technical knowledge but also the lessons learned throughout my life, the challenges, the mistakes and the successes,” says Anderson.

Nathália Nerri, a Production Engineering student, took advantage of the situation and sees a possible career in finance in a positive light. "The advice they gave me today, I will carry with me for life. I am very grateful to the university for providing this experience," the student emphasized.

The presence of Anderson and Marcelo reinforces ESEG College's commitment to the personal growth of its students, bringing real-world experiences from leading professionals in their fields.
