What is the difference between an internship and a traineeship?

This applies to students attending regular education in higher education institutions, vocational education, high school, special education, and the final years of elementary school, in the vocational modality of youth and adult education. 

The law specifies that internship contracts can be renewed for a maximum of two years. Furthermore, to apply for an internship, the professional must be regularly enrolled in an educational institution. 

What is a trainee?

O trainee It is a vocational program that aims to prepare young professionals for management positions within the company. Generally, this type of position can be filled by students in their final year of university. graduation or professionals who graduated no more than two years ago. Unlike internships, trainee programs do not have specific legislation. Therefore, the rules vary depending on the organization.  

During the contract period, the trainee may rotate through different departments, learning about the company's processes and organizational culture. 

What is the difference between an internship and a traineeship?

The main difference between an internship and a traineeship is the professional stage of the candidates. While internships accept students in their early semesters, traineeships are aimed at students in their final year or recent graduates. 

During an internship, the student has their first contact with the profession in a supervised manner. In contrast, a trainee usually has prior experience, which allows them more autonomy in performing their duties.  

There is also a significant difference in earnings. Interns may receive a stipend, close to the minimum wage. In some cases, unpaid internships are permitted by law when they are part of the course curriculum. 

Trainee compensation tends to be more attractive, since this type of program aims to attract new talent.
