The first step in a good career plan involves self-assessment, answering questions such as:

  • How do you see yourself in ten years?

2. Map the job market.

After conducting a self-assessment, it's time to look at the job market. Research the opportunities offered in your field of interest and cross-reference the information gathered in your self-assessment with market data, identifying how your strengths can be used to your advantage.   

3. Set your goals.

The third step in creating your career plan is to establish your goals. This step is crucial because it helps create commitment to the career plan. Write down your goals on paper and keep them in an easily accessible place so you can refer to them whenever necessary.

To define your goals, use verbs that indicate achievement or growth, such as: raise, increase, improve, enhance, or develop.  

4. Set your goals.

A very common mistake in career planning is setting unattainable goals. Besides hindering your objectives, this can be very frustrating. The advice here is... prioritize the goals that are within your reach.. In other words, take one step at a time.

Be realistic and Use common sense.. Before setting a goal, consider whether you are willing to dedicate yourself to achieving it and whether you have the necessary tools and knowledge to do so.  

Timmediately (temporal)

Every goal needs a deadline. This helps to create a sense of urgency, This is extremely important for achieving goals. It's worth remembering that deadlines should also be realistic.

5. Create an action plan.

Finally, the time has come to create an action plan. To do this, you will need to... analyze your goals and ask yourself: What do I need to do to achieve them? Next, list the actions that are necessary to bring your plans to life. 

For example, if one of your goals is to earn a college degree by 2025, you should include activities such as “Studying for the college entrance exam.”Include "going to college" and "entering college" in your action plan. It's important to remember that, at this stage of your career plan, you need to consider practical issues such as time management, deadlines, and budgets. 

6. Constantly evaluate
