Accelerate your career: build your next step., program of Career Development Center (CDC) focused on the professional and personal development of students.

With a program comprised of workshops, practical reflections, and individual mentoring, the initiative helps students build their career paths in a more conscious, strategic way, aligned with the demands of the job market.

The program is divided into four modules: Self-Knowledge and Career, Soft Skills for the Market, Organizational Culture, and Mentoring. Currently, students are in the third stage, dedicated to understanding organizational culture and the relationship between personal purpose and company values.

Organizational culture in practice

On August 13, 2026, the first lecture of Module 3 featured Nayara Vilas Boas, Organizational Development Manager at The Adecco Group, a professional with experience in companies in the financial and industrial sectors, as well as consulting firms.

During the meeting, Nayara addressed the constant transformations in the world of work and the challenges they represent for organizations and professionals. According to her, the speed of change, also driven by the emergence of new technologies, demands an ever-increasing capacity for adaptation. “The world is transforming, everything changes all the time. We always have a new technology and new things to understand. Change never stops happening, and this presents a challenge for companies,” she emphasized.

One of the main points discussed was the difference between what a company declares as its values and what is actually experienced in daily life. For Nayara, organizational culture goes beyond institutional communication and manifests itself mainly in day-to-day relationships and practices. "Organizational culture within the company, in practical terms, is just the tip of the iceberg," she explained. She also reinforced the importance of consistency between discourse and practice: "It's necessary to have a coherent relationship between what you say and what you do."“

The discussion also provided an opportunity for students to share professional experiences related to organizational culture. Students recounted situations in which they began to observe how companies functioned differently and sought to talk to their superiors to contribute to improving workflows and, consequently, to their own professional growth.

Another highlighted theme was taking ownership of one's career. The speaker emphasized that professional development should not depend exclusively on the initiative of leaders, as professionals themselves need to take responsibility for building their own career path.

The meeting also addressed changes in the relationship with work across generations, based on the so-called generational map, showing how different generations have developed new perspectives on career, work environment, and expectations regarding companies.

Experiences that help build a career.

The project coordinator and CDC coordinator, Simone Bortoletto, also collaborated with the meeting and shared information with students from all levels. ESEG degrees Experiences related to recruitment and preparation for selection processes, including the importance of asking the right questions during interviews.

The importance of feedback was also among the topics discussed. According to the speaker, communication needs to be constant in professional relationships, since expectations, perceptions, and behaviors are not always obvious to the person on the other side.

At the end of the lecture, Nayara also addressed some differences between the academic environment and the job market, highlighting aspects such as the impact of mistakes and lessons learned, the visibility of the work done, and the need to develop autonomy.
