On November 11th, the Permanent Consumer Protection Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association – São Paulo Section (OAB-SP) launched its Collective Work during an ordinary meeting. The event included the participation of Professor Alexandre Peres Rodrigues, a lecturer in the Law program at ESEG Faculty, part of the Etapa Group, who contributed the chapter "Fundamental Right to the Protection of Personal Data: A Debate on its Generational Classification".

The event, which attracted academics, legal professionals, and students, was an excellent opportunity to discuss emerging and highly relevant topics in the legal field, such as the protection of personal data and digital inclusion. The publication, which brings together various legal experts, is an important milestone for the Permanent Consumer Protection Commission and for all those involved in its creation, including Professor Alexandre, who had previously collaborated in coordinating earlier collective works of the Commission.

The chapter authored by the professor provides an in-depth analysis of personal data protection and its impact on the creation of new rights. The topic, which has gained prominence in various areas of law, especially after the implementation of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), was addressed by the professor focusing on issues of privacy, digital security, and their implications for human rights.

In his presentation, Professor Alexandre emphasized the importance of discussing fundamental rights in the context of digital inclusion, showing how current legislation can create a fairer and more accessible legal environment, protecting individuals in the constantly transforming technological landscape.

The launch of the collective work also represented a unique opportunity for ESEG Faculty students and others interested in Law to participate in a high-level academic and professional event. During the session, students had the chance to interact with the speakers, discuss relevant topics, and deepen their knowledge in areas that are increasingly being addressed in academic curricula, such as digital rights and data protection.

Professor Alexandre Peres Rodrigues emphasized the importance of students engaging in this type of event, not only to broaden their theoretical knowledge but also to experience legal discussions in real time, establishing a link between professional practice and academic training.

This was an excellent opportunity for academics and professionals to update themselves on emerging issues in the legal field, especially regarding data protection and the promotion of rights in the digital world.
