Nowadays, there are professions that don't require a degree, but the impact of a degree in today's professional world is quite significant. Therefore, pursuing a college education is an extremely important step for your future.

University allows young people to begin their professional qualifications and fulfill training prerequisites, while experience makes their profile more attractive.

What are the main student programs?

During college entrance exam season, we hear about various student programs that can greatly help in getting into your dream university. 

But what are the student programs and how do they work?

Student programs are funding programs intended for students regularly enrolled in non-free higher education courses who have received a positive evaluation in the processes conducted by the Ministry of Education.

Today, there are two types of student financing models: FIES and P-FIES (Student Financing Program), and PROUNI and SISU. 

• The FIES program is aimed at students whose gross family income is up to three minimum wages. per capita and offers a zero interest rate.
  A percentage of the tuition is paid by the federal government as if they were loan installments. The student begins repaying this "loan" some time after graduation. 

•  The P-Fies program is intended for students with a gross monthly family income. per capita up to five minimum wages.
• The Prouni program gives students the chance to obtain a scholarship of 50% or 100%, depending on their ENEM exam scores, primarily considering the essay portion. This program is not a loan, so the student will not have to repay the scholarship amount.

• The Unified Selection System, or more commonly known as Sisu, is a program of the Federal Government created in 2010 that selects students for federal and state universities according to the results obtained in the ENEM (National High School Exam).

In addition to government-offered student programs, another option is scholarships offered by the universities themselves as a form of financial aid for students, offering lower tuition fees based on their entrance exam results.

However, this availability is not always guaranteed, and the number of those selected is usually smaller than the number who manage to secure places through the programs. 

Why is Prouni an excellent idea?

The Prouni (University for All Program) is a student program created in 2004 by the federal government, which offers full (100%) and partial (50%) scholarships at non-free higher education institutions for low-income students.

Because it is a program in which the student will not have to pay anything during or after the course is completed, competition for Prouni is very high, which requires a better score on the Enem exam.

Furthermore, to be selected for the program, it is necessary to have completed all 3 years of high school in public schools or as a full scholarship student in a private school, always proving income. per capita.
