ESEG Graduation Ceremony Celebrates Graduates in Business Administration, Economics, and Production Engineering

On Saturday (August 22), ESEG College, part of the Etapa Group, celebrated one of the most important moments in its students' academic journey: the Graduation Ceremony for the first semester 2026 classes in Administration, Economics, and Production Engineering.

Held at the Ana Rosa campus, the ceremony brought together graduates, family, friends, professors, and staff to celebrate the completion of their undergraduate studies and the beginning of a new professional phase. Throughout the ceremony, students were reminded that their academic training represents a foundation for a journey that will continue to be built through new experiences, learning, and challenges.

Speeches highlight preparation and opportunities in professional careers.

The speeches given by the commencement speakers reinforced various lessons that accompanied the students during their undergraduate studies and that will continue to be present in their careers.

The commencement speaker for the Business Administration class and course coordinator, Professor Dr. José Guilherme Ferraz de Campos, highlighted the relationship built with the class throughout their undergraduate studies and spoke about the importance of being prepared to recognize and seize opportunities.

In his message, he reminded the students that they had learned to analyze data and scenarios, but that there is no such thing as "luck." For him, luck happens when preparation meets opportunity, and the graduates are prepared for that encounter. 

José Guilherme also emphasized that "luck doesn't always arrive in the expected way and that some challenges may arise when plans change direction." Therefore, he advised the new professionals "not to be afraid when things deviate from the initially planned path.".

For the Economics commencement speaker, Professor Dr. Robson Rodrigues Pereira, the profession goes far beyond numbers and data. "Economics isn't about data, it's about people," he emphasized. Speaking about the new professional reality, marked by more data and new tools, Robson stressed that good economists need to continue studying not only their field of expertise, but also everything that happens around them. He also highlighted the importance of shared knowledge, communication, and respect for different opinions.

To the graduates, he also left a reflection on consistency: a career will not be defined by mistakes, but by the ability to continue building a consistent trajectory.

The commencement speaker for Production Engineering, Professor Leonardo Macarrão Júnior, reminded everyone that, although graduation is often presented as a new beginning, it is precisely the difficulties faced throughout life that contribute to the development of each professional. 

According to the professor, the five years of training provided students with a preparation that puts them ahead in the professional market. From now on, the challenge will be to continue evolving, seizing opportunities, and maintaining the willingness to make things happen.

The students themselves also had the opportunity to share their experiences from their undergraduate studies.

Representing the Business Administration course, Christian Xavier Fonseca defined the graduation ceremony as an extremely important moment and made a point of thanking the professors. Looking back on the years spent at ESEG, he emphasized his certainty that the classes, the professors, and the staff will remain in the graduates' memories.

For him, all the hardship endured during his undergraduate studies was worth it, and from that moment on, the knowledge he had gained could be applied to new challenges and dreams.

The valedictorian of the Economics class, Guilherme Vilani Santana, recalled a very particular characteristic of his class's journey: the beginning of their undergraduate studies during the pandemic. The experience demanded adaptation, and according to Guilherme, this ability will continue to be fundamental in the career of an economist, who constantly works with parameters, projections, and scenarios. 

The message he delivered to his colleagues was straightforward: “It’s necessary to know how to read the scenario and project what comes next, but when something goes wrong, it’s also necessary to know how to adapt. What determines the outcome is not the prediction, but what you do when it breaks down,” commented the graduate.

Representing Production Engineering, student Thiago Souza dos Santos highlighted that, among all the lessons learned during his undergraduate studies, the experiences shared with professors and collaborators will be among the most important memories.

The ceremony also included tributes to the teachers who were part of the students' journey.

In his speech honoring the teachers, João Vitor Silva de Oliveira highlighted one of the characteristics of the education at ESEG: the close relationship between students and professors. According to him, this relationship enabled exchanges and learning that might not have been possible in other contexts. João Vitor also recalled the difficult moments when the professors stood by the students, including when some even considered giving up.

The ceremony also recognized the honored professors from each course: Prof. Edgard Rodrigues, from Administration; Prof. Adriano Giacomini Morais, from Economics; and Prof. Thales Roberto Sakamoto, from Production Engineering.

Also honored was employee Jaime Bertrando Itálico Croppo, recognized by the class for his participation and presence throughout the students' journey at ESEG.

One of the most moving moments: the tribute to the families.

Present throughout their undergraduate years, family members and important people were remembered as a fundamental part of the journey that led the students to that moment. 

The graduates presented roses to their parents and loved ones in the audience as a gesture of gratitude for all the support they received during their academic journey.

The tribute reinforced the idea that an achievement like graduation is not built individually. Behind each diploma are also the people who supported, encouraged, and were there during challenging times.

After the speeches, tributes, and oaths from each course, one of the most anticipated moments of the ceremony arrived: the symbolic presentation of diplomas. Graduates in Business Administration, Economics, and Production Engineering were called to the stage and celebrated by family, friends, and professors.

ADMINISTRATION

• Best Graduation Project: Christian Xavier Fonseca, with the work "Brand Loyalty in Brazilian Football: Evidence from the Public at Sport Club Corinthians Paulista Games", developed under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Filippe Delarissa Barros.
• Best Academic Performance: Nathalia Gualdiano Ribeiro.

ECONOMY

• Best Graduation Project: Guilherme Vilani Santana, with the work "Evolution of the income effect on the Brazilian population's health stock", supervised by Prof. Dr. Adriano Giacomini Morais. 
• Best Academic Performance: Victoria Torres Alencar.

PRODUCTION ENGINEERING

• Best Graduation Project: Felipe Vieira Baptista, author of "Introduction to Quantum Computing: Fundamentals for Production Engineering," developed under the guidance of Prof. PhD. João Chang Jr.
• Best Academic Performance: Luis Américo Reis Campos.

In addition to the physical certificate, recognized students also received a badge (digital seal), which can be shared on professional platforms such as LinkedIn, allowing public verification of academic achievement.

ESEG continues to be the home of graduates.

At the closing of the ceremony, the Academic Projects Coordinator of ESEG, Dr. Luiz Alberto Neves Filho, emphasized that graduation represents the end of a cycle, but not the end of the students' relationship with the institution. He conveyed to the new professionals the message that ESEG will always be their home and highlighted the importance of pursuing continuous learning throughout their lives.

The orientation summarizes one of the main purposes of the celebration: to bring to the professional market not only the knowledge acquired during graduation, but also the willingness to continue learning, evolving, and building new paths. "ESEG is proud to be part of this journey and will always have its doors open for you," Luiz concluded.

Finally, the 2026-1 graduates threw their traditional caps into the air, symbolizing the celebration of their achievement and the closing of a chapter. For the graduates of Business Administration, Economics, and Production Engineering, there is now the certainty that one story has been completed and many others are beginning to be written.
