On the evening of August 26th, ESEG College, part of the Etapa Group, hosted a lecture by Manoel Pereira de Queiroz, an expert in Agribusiness, to mark the launch of the Agribusiness League, an initiative within the ESEG Tech & Business project.

The event's theme was... “"Smart Finance in Agribusiness"” and it brought reflections on the strategic role of financial management in a sector that is growing and becoming increasingly professional in Brazil.

Manoel, a senior partner at MAPA Capital, has over 38 years of experience in financial institutions and agribusiness development, in addition to serving on important boards related to the sector. During his presentation, he emphasized that agribusiness is not limited to production in the field: it involves farmers, companies, buyers, and an entire ecosystem of financing and innovation.

Among the points addressed, he reinforced the importance of technology as an ally of sustainable production, capable of increasing productivity without harming the environment, and the challenges of food security, given population growth and the need for adequate planning and resources. "Technification already exists and is happening, opening up space for growth. With technology, we can expand agriculture without harming the environment," the speaker emphasized.

Following his presentation, the students were able to exchange ideas, receive insights, and deepen their understanding of the mechanisms that underpin Brazilian agribusiness, from production to the financial market.

ESEG Agribusiness League

The Agribusiness League was created as a learning and development space for students, aligned with the ESEG Tech & Business program, which seeks to connect academic knowledge, practice, and innovation. The project aims to stimulate strategic thinking, enhance analytical and innovative capacity, and build a competitive advantage for participants.

Professor Edison Feghali is responsible for guiding the League, whose board of directors is:

President: Guilherme Moreno R. de Souza (Production Engineering – 8th semester)

Project Director: Sabrina Silveira Lopes (Production Engineering – 6th semester)

Finance Director: Vinícius Paixão (Economics – 6th semester)

Contributors: João Victor Martins Miranda Chiezi and Lucas Nakaya Giraldi (both from Production Engineering – 6th semester)

The launch reinforces ESEG College's commitment to offering students transformative experiences, bringing them closer to sectors that are strategic for the country's economic and sustainable development.

Students wishing to participate in the Agribusiness League should contact their coordinator for more information.
