Professional Journey: Alumnus shares his experience leading up to Nubank.

The path to building a professional career can be challenging, but having a solid educational foundation and all the necessary support helps make the process smoother and allows goals to be achieved.

The career path of Caio Spinola Domingues, a graduate of the Production Engineering course, is proof of this. In the professional market since 2010, the current engineer recounts how ESEG College contributed to his personal growth, both in terms of developing technical and behavioral skills.

Throughout his career, Caio has held various positions and worked for several companies, including Knorr-Bremse, Banco Cacique, Portocred, Serasa Experian, Rede, Porto Seguro, Carrefour, and finally, Nubank, where he currently works as a product operations leader.

Caio says that the environment at Nubank is unlike any other he has worked in over the years, especially in terms of the company culture. “The dynamics and pace of work are more fluid and autonomous than in other places where I've worked. There's a lot of creative freedom and room to explore new paths, which has significantly improved my asynchronous work skills and my ability to plan and document,” says the alumnus.

This brought a shock to his reality and presented new challenges in the face of major changes. However, Caio feels prepared for this journey. “ESEG made a very strong contribution to my development of resilience, discipline, and the ability to learn quickly. In my daily work, I use both these acquired behavioral skills and the technical knowledge I learned, especially in subjects related to statistics, particularly Reliability,” shares the graduate.

When asked about ESEG's role in his career, he gets straight to the point: "The Caio of the past, the freshman, would never have been able to grasp the magnitude of the contribution the Faculty made to this growth. It was certainly a costly and dedicated process, but one that brings me pride and happiness for the choice I made," reflects the production engineer.

For the graduate, the Faculty not only helped open physical doors in the professional market, but it was also fundamental in opening the doors of his own mind to follow the path that led him to where he is today. “The knowledge base I gained at ESEG was extremely broad and complex. Furthermore, the experience with other students, the demanding environment of discipline, organization, and planning contributed to the professional I am today,” he reflects.

To current ESEG students and future freshmen, Caio leaves a message: “Live intensely during your bachelor's degree, take full advantage of every opportunity, whether it's transcribed in a class, a conversation with professors, classmates, or even more informal events. Intentionally use all the hundreds of opportunities the Faculty offers you to practice each of these skills.”.

Working for a large company can truly bring many challenges. Therefore, choosing the right college is crucial when investing in your future. ESEG's main goal is to prepare our students to develop fully and be ready for the challenges of the future.

“"I am aware that I still have a lot to evolve and achieve, but with the strong foundation I have had the opportunity to build, I feel confident to navigate towards the future regardless of the challenge that may come," concludes the engineer.
