Professors and students from ESEG present papers at a congress at the University of Coimbra.

Students and professors of Law from ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa attended the VIII International Congress on Human Rights of Coimbra: a transdisciplinary vision, held between October 10 and 12 in Portugal, with presentations of relevant articles and academic works produced in the academic environment.

The meeting, promoted by Ius Gentium Conimbrigae, a Human Rights center based at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, aims to unite the academic community to participate in debates on various social and legal issues related to Human Rights. The event also seeks to promote the development of scientific ideas and theories from a multidisciplinary and critical perspective of the social and legal sciences.

Participation in the Congress is possible through the application and approval of papers, articles, and research projects in the field. In this context, it is with great satisfaction that we highlight that students Aya Sugiya and Giuliana Ricci Graton, both in their 6th semester, and Marcos Marques Barbosa Sampaio Magalhães, from the 3rd semester of the Law course, were selected to present their research at one of the most renowned institutions in Europe. In addition to the students, Professor Dr. Luciana Chiavoloni de Andrade Jardim and Professor Me. Amanda Scalisse Silva They also presented their papers at the Congress. 

For Marcos Magalhães, the experience of participating in an international congress was fantastic. “Having the opportunity to meet professionals, researchers, professors, and students from various parts of the world allowed me to expand my vision of the academic side of Law, as well as make new contacts, listen to and discuss new themes and problems. In addition, as an undergraduate student, I was able to produce, present, and have the possibility of publishing an academic work at an international level,” the student commented.

In an outstanding manner, ESEG distinguished itself at the Congress by combining project presentations with significant faculty participation. Dr. Luciana, along with Professor Giovanni Paolo Pilosio, expertly presided over the Symposium entitled "Labor Relations and Sustainability: Challenges and Perspectives," making a remarkable contribution to the event.

"The students' participation, as well as assisting them in presenting their work, is a very important advantage. Having this close relationship that extends beyond the classroom is a significant benefit," adds Marcos.

More than essential, the partnership fostered between the Etapa Group Faculty and the University of Coimbra makes actions like this possible and recurrent. Particularly important for enhancing the students' university experience, academic mobility between institutions allows for experiences that enrich their education.
