ESEG holds a lecture on leadership for postgraduate students.

On October 4th, the postgraduate course in Business Management at ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa – welcomed Sundeep Jinsi, Vice President of Sales at Intelsat, a company that provides satellite communications services.

Jinsi was at ESEG to deliver an important and engaging lecture on "Leadership in Transnational Companies and Complex Multicultural Environments" to postgraduate students, focusing on the Management Development and Leadership course. A Dutch national with a degree in Electronic Engineering and an MBA, Jinsi has experience in countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, India (from where he left at the age of 4), and Brazil. In Brazil, he led companies in the Latin American telecommunications, media, and streaming sectors. His professional experience includes companies such as Philips, Technicolor, and Intelsat.

Some of the topics covered in the lecture included the contrasts between leaders of the past and leaders of today; generational changes and the attitudes and roles of followers of yesterday and today; and the challenges facing the leader of the future. In addition, Jinsi discussed how the new leadership profile should lead to a review of how business goals are set for employees, an important topic for our students who intend to pursue leadership roles in large companies.

 Professor Edgard Rodrigues commented on the importance of prominent figures sharing their professional experiences with students. “Mr. Jinsi brilliantly covered the topics, always bringing examples based on his rich experience as an executive and someone who has lived in different cultures. This added a great deal of content to the lecture, especially because he knows the reality of five major areas that still operate differently: the USA, Western Europe, the Indian subcontinent, and Latin America,’ said Rodrigues.

 The event was an excellent opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge and network.
