The first day of class was marked by integration, welcoming, and a lesson on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
The quality of the courses, the excellence of the faculty, and the unique and differentiated curriculum. These are just some of the many reasons that led students to enroll in the MBA in Business Management at ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa – last Tuesday, March 22nd.
In the class that marks the beginning of academic activities, the students attended a presentation by Professor Silvia Boarin, PhD, coordinator of postgraduate studies at ESEG, who, in addition to welcoming and integrating the new students, spoke about the course and the institution.
Right at the beginning of her presentation, Silvia prompted reflection from those present with a question: "Do you know why you are here? Do you know what the market wants from you?".
The professor explained that the corporate world is looking for well-rounded professionals. "Companies want you to adapt to change, have good communication skills, be ethical, and still deliver results. There are many requirements, and that's why people seek an MBA.".
According to Silvia, in 2 years, a Lato Sensu postgraduate degree can contribute in several ways to students:
– Become experts in the field;
– Have an outstanding resume;
Develop your network;
– They can expand their careers or change activities;
Update your knowledge;
– If they wish, they can become professors in Higher Education.
The professor also presented data on the job market. According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), in 2019, 211 out of 3-year-old Brazilians had a bachelor's degree, and less than 11 out of 3-year-olds possessed a postgraduate qualification. This data proves how decisive an MBA or postgraduate degree can be in selection processes.
Stephanie Cuin graduated in Production Engineering from ESEG and currently works as a Planning Analyst at a US company in the Mechanical Engineering sector, which has had a presence in Brazil since 1970. She decided to enroll in the MBA program to reach new positions in the job market. "I chose ESEG again because I know the quality of the courses, the curriculum is very different from other institutions, and I know that the international certificate will be a differentiator in my career," stated the student.
If Stephanie could rank the highlights of the ESEG MBA program, she would place the course curriculum at the top of the podium. "The expertise we will acquire with this curriculum goes beyond the business field," she concluded.
Edson Machado is a sales manager and decided to start 2022 focusing on his career. "Currently, I am a sales manager and I want to specialize, deepen my knowledge, and improve in the activities I perform.".
The first subject of the course was ESG Management, taught by Professor Melissa Schleich. The complete academic calendar is available on the Student Portal.
