Between November 21st and 23rd, ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa held the 2nd EXPO ESEG, which featured presentations of student work results from the Development Centers, as well as lectures and projects in the Leonardo Da Vinci Main Hall.
On the first day, the Economics professor, Robson Rodrigues Pereira, gave a lecture entitled "Global and Domestic Economy in 2023: a very challenging scenario," which highlighted, for example, the impact that the pandemic had on the financial market globally. According to the professor, the challenges were different for each country, but all suffered – some still suffer – the consequences, such as loss of stocks, currency devaluation, and reduced purchasing power.
In addition to the lecture, the students also presented projects developed through the Development Centers. One of them, "Development of a didactic kit for hydroelectric power plants and studies of environmental impacts," had its prototype on display, and the student...
Sabrina dos Santos explained: “This is a project inspired by a hydroelectric power plant, where we simulate the process of water in the turbines, how energy is generated, what water pressure is needed, and how much water is required. In addition, there is a didactic model that we created within the LITE (Technological Innovation Laboratory of ESEG), which simulates the passage of electrons within the wire to generate energy.”.

Also presenting a project, Professor João Chang presented “Data Logger for experiments with extracorporeal circulation (ECC): preliminary results,” a machine used for open-heart surgery, cardiac and/or pulmonary assistance for patients awaiting a transplant. The aim of this work is to measure and record in a spreadsheet the pressure at four different positions in the ECC circuit, calculating their average values, and to measure and record the temperature, flow rate, oxygenation, hematocrit, and the passage of air bubbles during ECC. The data are presented graphically on the client's devices (computers, tablets, or cell phones) via Wi-Fi. The measurement and recording of the temporal evolution of the parameters can assist research related to improving the process. According to the professor, this project will assist professionals during the most critical moment of the operation and minimize risks.
In addition to these, other projects developed by students and teachers were also available at the exhibition throughout the three days.
On the second day, Professor Amanda Scalisse Silva lectured on the concept of Metalaw and the role of Law in the metaverse environment. Considered the next stage of the web revolution, the metaverse promises a new Internet marked by the overcoming of boundaries between real and virtual, allowing the user to have a true immersion in the digital world.

Students wishing to participate in the Development Centers and have the opportunity to put projects and ideas into practice should contact Student Support or the coordinator of their respective course for more information. Registration is open to students from all courses starting from the 1st semester.
