On August 11th, ESEG Faculty hosted a lecture on the economy of Portugal and the Eurozone, led by Professor Dr. Rafael Dias, a lecturer at the Catholic University of Porto. In addition to giving the lecture, the professor was at the institution participating in mentoring sessions related to the EQUIS international accreditation process, which ESEG intends to pursue.

EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) is an international seal of academic excellence awarded by EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development), one of the most respected organizations in the world in the field of management and executive education. It is primarily aimed at business schools and higher education institutions that offer courses in management, economics, and related fields.

During his presentation, Dr. Rafael offered students important insights into the evolution of the Portuguese economy before, during, and after its integration into the Eurozone. He also drew detailed comparisons between the main economic sectors of Portugal and other European Union countries, as well as with Brazilian sectors, highlighting tourism, an essential activity for the Portuguese economy, which receives more than 25 million visitors per year.

The professor also highlighted that Portugal's main trading partners are naturally located within the European Union itself, and that Brazil's low participation in trade is due to the need for negotiation with the European bloc as a whole. He also presented data on demographics, political and social reforms, and current demands of Portuguese society.

ESEG College continues to enhance its international relations so that students can have global experiences and become highly qualified professionals for any market.
