ESEG will host Professor Fernando Louzada for a discussion on Neuroscience applied to Education.

Louzada, a postdoctoral researcher in Psychology at Harvard University, will participate in the ESEG Cycle of Education and Transformation.

ESEG – the School of Engineering and Management – will host a lecture by Professor Fernando Louzada, a visiting professor in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University and a researcher in the field of Neuroscience and Behavior. The institution proposes a discussion about the adolescent brain, its vulnerabilities and opportunities. During the event, Louzada will present results from years of research, demonstrating how Neuroscience can be an ally to students and parents in the learning process, serving as a tool for organization, discipline, motivation, sleep management, and resilience.

Louzada studies the relationships between sleep, learning, and academic performance. Beyond the curriculum and pedagogical project, studies in this area demonstrate that biological rhythms play a significant role in the process of content assimilation. How to utilize the restorative effect of sleep to optimize studies is one of the topics that will be discussed at the meeting, which is open to the public and the entire academic community.

The event will take place on June 26th at 7 PM on the Ana Rosa campus. This initiative is part of the ESEG Cycle of Education and Transformation, which aims to foster debate on topics relevant to the future of teaching practices, knowledge acquisition, the job market, and society.
