Aimed at students enrolled in the Faculty's courses, the initiative of the office ESEG International The course aimed to deepen participants' knowledge of Artificial Intelligence through mathematics, statistics, and algorithms, providing a strategic and global perspective.
In addition to improving their English through direct contact with the teacher from Romania, the students learned to use equations and algorithms to represent real-world scenarios, statistical models, and AI—knowledge that contributes to optimizing processes, predicting trends, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Director of the Center for Research in Information and Technologies, Dana expressed her excitement about her short time in Brazil and commented on the course she taught: “I am very honored to be here in Brazil to present some classes to the students. I was able to show how to solve problems using specific methods, such as algorithms and machine learning, demonstrating that problems can be solved in different ways, whether in engineering, economics, or any other field of study,” explained the professor.
Vanessa Martins, coordinator of the ESEG International office, speaking about the importance of an international presence, says that it greatly benefits students to have a different perspective on subjects they are used to, this time from a foreign point of view. "Professor Dana's presence is very important in bringing a different experience to the students, addressing topics they study, but from an international perspective," she emphasized.
With a different perspective and practical examples, the classes were well-received by the participants, such as Mariana de Oliveira, an Economics student, who was satisfied not only with the classes in English, but also with the professor's teachings. “My experience was incredible! We learned about…” Machine Learning, "Applied mathematics, algorithms, and various other things. We gained an understanding of how to apply this learning to our daily lives and professional fields," the student said.
This international course, taught by Professor Dana from Romania, reinforces ESEG College's commitment to preparing students for an increasingly competitive and globalized job market. This is achieved through incentives, courses, and extracurricular activities that combine theoretical and practical learning with the opportunity to experience international interaction with renowned professionals from around the world.
