With three elective courses, the Skills Factory will offer activities to train professionals who can explore their full potential.

In pursuit of continuing the purpose for which ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa was created, to develop students professionally and personally, the project Skills Factory It begins with three "subjects": ESEG Simulation, Excellence Training, and ESEG Debates. Students will receive supplementary training to complement the subjects in the course's curriculum, in order to assist them in their growth in behavioral skills.

“The Skills Factory combines theoretical and practical activities related to the skills sought by the job market,” says Professor Marcelo Dias, coordinator of undergraduate courses at ESEG. “With the three areas, which are elective subjects, we will bring a wide range of approaches with activities that favor the academic and professional growth of our students, whether in the area of hard or soft skills.”.

Simulate ESEG It will include simulations of selection processes and professional routines in various contexts. “To get a job at a good company, in addition to technical skills, it is necessary to demonstrate behavioral skills assessed through group dynamics and interviews. Therefore, thinking about the success of our students, the course seeks to develop the soft skills necessary for good performance in group dynamics, as well as for excellent professional performance from each individual,” explains the professor.

This semester, we will be working on the Financial Market, Agribusiness, Industry, and Consulting sectors. The module consists of four activities, one per week: an overview of companies in the sector and the necessary skills; a case study; a discussion to solve the problem presented in the case; and a simulation of a selection process with performance feedback, from resume analysis to performance in the group dynamics.

A Excellence in Training The course will explore techniques to make undergraduate students' lives more efficient and effective. "Undergraduate studies are a stage in students' education that demands more in-depth knowledge and a new dynamic in the way they learn. Along with the challenges inherent in this phase of life, optimizing time and studies becomes essential to balancing university with professional life. Knowing how to organize routines, define priorities, and build knowledge are also important aspects of university life," says Professor Marcelo Dias.

This course will develop skills such as organization, learning ability, study methods, motivation, autonomy, decision-making, critical thinking, and the ability to plan for future actions. To this end, practical and guiding activities are part of the curriculum. A spiraling academic progression method and the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) method, combined with study, will be some of the topics covered this semester.

With a focus on deepening knowledge in topics of interest for the sound education of students and providing opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, the elective course ESEG Debates It will bring in guests to discuss technology, economics, careers, and other topics. It consists of interactive activities in which topics relevant to the global and cultural development of people will be debated.

“One of the biggest challenges for professionals is knowing how to communicate with work teams, whether in presentations, meetings, or day-to-day interactions. These sessions will be a way for students to develop their point of view, build a coherent line of reasoning, and present it assertively,” he explains. “In this way, it will also be possible for students to develop behavioral skills sought by recruiters: good communication, self-confidence, critical thinking, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.”.
