Inaugural lecture with the president of Google marks the beginning of the first semester at ESEG College.

And that's what ESEG provided its students this Tuesday, February 10th, with an incredible Master Class given by Fabio Coelho, president of Google Brazil and vice-president of Google Inc.

 

 

Hosted by Rodrigo Assirati, professor of Artificial Intelligence in the Engineering courses, the inaugural lecture was attended by freshmen, upperclassmen, alumni, coordinators, and professors from ESEG, who had the opportunity for a rich exchange of knowledge with one of the leading CEOs in our country. 

 

 

In his lecture “Artificial Intelligence and its Power of Transformation,” Fabio shared a bit about his career path and how AI can help transform everyday challenges into simple and dynamic solutions. “I was very happy to be invited to be at ESEG College. We were able to talk a little with the students about Artificial Intelligence and its role in transforming society, a hot topic because it represents a new way of living, working, composing, learning, and creating,” explained the evening's guest speaker, who has led Google in Brazil since 2011. 

 

 

The emergence of generative AI has opened up many possibilities for our lives, allowing us to deal with complex questions and problems in a practical and intuitive way. To reach us, the consumers, companies like Google dedicated many years of research, development, and testing, in a long-term plan until the average mobile phone user could benefit from virtual assistants. 

 

 

Illustrating its practical use in daily life, Fabio demonstrated some functions of Gemini, Google's Artificial Intelligence. The highlight was the ability to quickly search by text, image, audio, and video, as well as create personalized content. This Google tool is simply an evolution of everything the company has done since the end of the last century, when it was founded to be a search engine on the internet. 

 

 

Impact among students

 

 

Bruna Ataíde, a freshman law student, also didn't hide her satisfaction at being part of this moment. After the lecture, she expressed optimism about her graduation: “My expectations for ESEG are very high. The reception we received was incredible, and on the second day I already had the opportunity to participate in a lecture with the president of Google Brazil. It's something incredible that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”. 

 

 

 

 

The students had the opportunity to learn more about the Faculty's projects, such as the Career Development Center, ESEG International, the Library services, the Garra Azul Athletic Association, and the sports teams. In addition to the presentations, the new students were welcomed with a welcome kit and a time of integration with special snacks.
