A ESEG College On February 13th, he/she carried out an academic visit to B3 Museum, This space is dedicated to the history of the Brazilian capital market and financial education. The museum, which has already received over 170,000 visitors, aims to bring society closer to the world of investments and make the subject more accessible to the public.

The activity was open to freshmen and returning students from all courses at the Faculty, with the aim of providing a different practical experience outside the classroom. Vitória Quissak, a freshman in Economics, said she was surprised by the invitation so early in her studies. "The trip was incredible, I learned so much," she emphasized.

During the visit, the students learned about the origins of the first financial transactions in Brazil, which began in public squares when bonds were traded to finance public works during the Imperial period.

The historical overview covered the creation of the National Treasury, the role of official and independent brokers, as well as significant events such as the New York Stock Exchange crash, which impacted economies around the world.

The students also learned about the evolution of public bond auctions, which ceased to take place in public squares and began to occur in specific environments, giving rise to stock exchanges.

One of the points discussed was the perception that investing in the stock market is "something for experienced people with a lot of money," an idea that the museum seeks to deconstruct by showing that access to the market is becoming increasingly democratic.

Another aspect that stood out during the visit was the technological transformation in the financial market. For Filipe Batista, a first-semester Computer Engineering student, the experience allowed him to connect the concepts of Economics with his own field of study. “I found it very interesting to see how technology has revolutionized the Stock Exchange and how everything has been modified by the use of software. It was a wonderful lesson I had outside the classroom, and I can only express my gratitude,” he concluded.

The purpose of the visit was to awaken the "sleeping investor" and reinforce that, with information and preparation, it is possible to participate in the financial market in a conscious and strategic way.
