The students of Right from the ESEG – Etapa Group College, on Sunday (May 19), they paid a visit to Court of Justice Museum and to Palace of Justice Museum in São Paulo. Accompanied by the teachers. Visits to institutions Court of Justice of São Paulo (TJSP) These experiences provide a way to broaden academic learning by teaching about the history of the judicial system in the state, as well as giving students the chance to personally experience relevant places and events within it. Practical examples help to understand theoretical concepts and form a network of ideas intrinsic to learning.

“"The students were able to learn a little about the history of..." Palacete Conde de Sarzedas, "...where the Museum and its collection are located, consisting of antique furniture, clothing, and very interesting historical documents," explained the professor. Luciana Chiavaloni. No Palace of Justice, They got to know its imposing and historic building, with a visit to... Furthermore, as Professor Fernando Couto explained, visits like this help to understand the daily life and future of the professional in Right"This activity allows undergraduate students to become familiar with the environments in which part of the daily work of legal professionals is carried out and to experience what they learn in theory, because, even during internships, they do not always have contact with this environment or with this part of legal activity," he explained.

APPROACH TO VISITS FROM THE TJSP (Court of Justice of São Paulo)

In addition to visiting the museums, the students attended four lectures on the creation of the museums, the history of the Court, the Court's activities, and the physical construction of the judiciary's headquarters in São Paulo.

The museums themselves offer various points of interest for law students and the general public. Gabrielle Borgato Carpejane, a 3rd semester student of Law at ESEG, He commented: “In addition to interesting historical facts about the city of São Paulo, the students were introduced to renowned personalities who were part of the Brazilian justice system, not to mention significant artifacts, such as original files from landmark cases, wills of important figures, and typewriters used in hearings.”.

She was also excited to visit the places and see in practice how everything she learned in the classroom unfolds in real life: "It was great to realize that Law is applied outside of Doctrines and numerous Codes, and how it has real effects on the lives of the people around us," she added.

For the student, visits to important sites in the History of Law are inspiring and essential: “I believe the students felt the same epiphany. We can all, one day, be a part of that. We can contribute to the magnitude of the São Paulo Judiciary, climb the stairs of the emblematic Palace of Justice and fulfill our essential function to society, helping citizens with their goals and achieving their rights and duties.”.

Gabriel Nunes Ferreira, also a student of ESEG Law, agrees with his colleague. In addition to emphasizing the impacts of the visits on his academic and professional life, he felt that the experience stimulated his desire to be part of all this history – something that impressed him at the same time: “By observing the enormous structures, the rich architecture and the history that such a place possesses, we can see and understand where the trials of the subjects we learn in the classroom take place. This is motivating and shows that Law is not only in the realm of ideas.”.
