ESEG professor participates in OAB/SP Congress on consumer law.

The 2nd Annual Consumer Defense Congress, which took place on March 15th, featured several prominent figures in the legal field, in an online event organized by the Consumer Defense Committee of the OAB/SP (São Paulo Bar Association).

Representing ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa, Professor Alexandre Peres Rodrigues, Lawyer and Master in State Law, spoke to the participants on the topic "The Consumer and the clash with the future". 

Professor Alexandre's invitation to participate in the congress came from the Defense Committee. On that occasion, the professor was able to explain the technological and social changes in the face of the economic changes in consumer behavior. "The future is in constant motion, and the best option to rationalize its theoretical challenges is to reframe the dogmas of law. For students, contributions on this subject can influence new theses or debates on some controversial points," he highlighted.

The Annual Consumer Defense Congress featured speakers such as Leonardo Sica, vice-president of the OAB/SP (São Paulo Bar Association), and Ellen Gonçalves, vice-president of the Consumer Defense Commission, also of the OAB/SP. Topics discussed included relationships in the digital age, the future vision of consumer law, over-indebtedness, and the challenges of the digital consumption market.

According to Professor Alexandre, the topics covered at the event will be passed on to students in the Consumer Law course, within the Law program at ESEG.
