The transition from the classroom to the job market can be challenging for those seeking their first job. However, João Victor, a student of Production Engineering at ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa, [Name], is already charting her own path and shares some of her experience, as well as some tips for those who intend to land a job.
In the fourth semester of the course, the student began his professional journey in March 2024 as an intern at Casio Brazil, working in the Sales Administration sector in the musical instruments area. For him, this first professional experience has been essential to apply the knowledge acquired at the University, such as statistics, data science and programming, to his daily activities.
“I’m learning a lot about sales, market analysis, and basic logistics, in addition to having direct contact with the international market,” shares João Victor. For him, the internship has been an enriching opportunity, where academic learning has come to life in his daily professional life.
The student highlights the fundamental role of Career Development Center (CDC) ESEG played a key role in this process, enabling him to participate in activities crucial to his entry into the job market, such as workshops focused on interview preparation, resume writing, and individualized mentoring sessions. “ESEG, the CDC, and the professors are fundamental pillars in my personal and professional development. They provide a solid theoretical foundation, practical skills, and continuous support,” João emphasizes.
When asked what he would recommend to his colleagues and future students at ESEG, João is direct: “Make the most of the Faculty's resources, especially those offered by the CDC. Participate in all workshops, events, and orientations. These resources are valuable for expanding your knowledge and opening many doors in the job market.”.
João Victor's experience exemplifies the importance of internships as an essential complement to university education. An internship is not only an opportunity to put classroom learning into practice, but also the first step towards a successful professional career. With the support of the CDC, which focuses on student employability and career development, ESEG continues to prepare its students to excel in the market, providing the necessary tools to transform opportunities into achievements.
ESEG is proud to witness stories like João Victor's, which reflect the potential of its students and the Faculty's dedication to supporting the development of professionals ready for the challenges of the future.
