On March 25th, students from ESEG – Faculdade do Grupo Etapa – undertook an educational trip to the Stock Exchange Museum, located in the imposing building of B3, the former São Paulo Stock Exchange. Under the guidance of professors José Guilherme Campos, Johnny Mendes, and Edison Feghali, who teach Finance at ESEG, the undergraduates delved into the history of investments, from their beginnings to contemporary methods, marked by digital trading.
According to Professor Edison Feghali, the visit to the São Paulo Stock Exchange Museum represented an opportunity for educational enrichment. “Our students were impressed by the wealth of information, the interactive exhibits, and all the resources available. I believe the visit contributed to a better understanding of the financial market and may have inspired them to explore more about the world of investments,” shared the professor.
Similarly, for Johnny Mendes, also a professor at ESEG, the technical visit provided a new perspective on the subject matter. "They get to see firsthand the positive effect of the Brazilian capital market and the opportunities that publicly traded companies enjoy when financing themselves through the issuance of shares," he emphasizes.
The activity also highlighted the technological and intellectual nature of this market. During the visit, the students had access to the operations center, where they observed the infrastructure necessary to keep the technology running and the protocols implemented to ensure that the market remains transparent, secure, and efficient. Thus, the system is able to support the needs of companies seeking financing, while simultaneously boosting job creation.
The coordinator of the Business Administration course, José Guilherme Campos, concludes the visit with a positive assessment. "It's gratifying to see that many of our students felt even more motivated to enter the financial market and take advantage of all the opportunities it offers," he concludes.
