Schools are training university students for increasingly demanding selection processes.<\/i><\/h4>

Group dynamics, presentations in English, interview marathons. The selection processes for entry into large national and multinational companies are becoming increasingly demanding.\u00a0<\/p>

Despite representing less than 151% of the total population, the number of Brazilians with higher education grew by 62.6% between 2006 and 2016, according to Inep. Increased competition means that the skills required in the market are becoming increasingly complex. \u00a0<\/i><\/p>

With a landscape of rapid innovation and qualified professionals, the educational work of universities must go beyond the classroom and theoretical foundations.\u00a0<\/p>

Many institutions already work with strategies focused on improving students' skills for the most competitive selection processes. Professional placement is one of the indicators that reflect the quality of higher education.<\/p>

In addition to a good academic education, it is important that the college also focuses on developing the so-called skills in its students.\u00a0soft skills.\u00a0<\/i>Examples of skills of this nature include knowing how to work in a team, thinking creatively, resilience, and empathy in communication.<\/p>

Market Readiness Center<\/h4>

With the aim of preparing students for company selection processes, ESEG \u2013 the School of Engineering and Management \u2013 created the Simulate ESEG<\/a><\/span>. The event brings in coaching professionals to test the skills that will be required of students in the selection processes.\u00a0<\/p>

The school, which offers courses in Administration<\/a>, Production Engineering<\/a> e Computer Engineering<\/a>, focuses on qualification as a way to guarantee the employability of university students and graduates.<\/p>

During the events, exercises such as group dynamics, case studies, and guidance on creating outstanding professional presentations are proposed. Through these experiences, students practice the skills required for both internship and trainee positions, as well as permanent roles.<\/p>

Another event in the same vein is the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) Preparation Marathon. This exam is administered by various multinational companies as a way to select the best-prepared candidates and consists of tests in English language, logical reasoning, and memory.\u00a0<\/p>

Originally created as an admissions test for American business schools, the GMAT has been adopted by multinational companies to select candidates.<\/p>

These are practical activities that go beyond the classroom and make students more prepared for the job market.<\/p>

Employability<\/h4>

The employability of students and graduates should be one of the factors taken into consideration when choosing a higher education institution.\u00a0<\/p>

Generally speaking, two out of every three students who complete higher education are in the formal job market, mostly in their field of study, according to research by Semesp, an organization of representative entities of higher education. At ESEG, this percentage reaches more than 90% of students in their final semester of undergraduate studies.<\/p>

Landing a job at your dream company doesn't happen overnight. Psychopedagogy and coaching professionals help students improve their learning and professional lives, while teachers motivate students to learn more and better. Selection processes are stages in this journey of achievement.<\/p>
