The opening was conducted by Professor Edgard Rodrigues, from the Administration course.<\/p>\n<p>With extensive international experience, Lucas participated in the European Space Agency&#039;s Rosetta mission, being the only Latin American on the team that made possible the historic landing of the Philae probe on a comet. In Brazil, he leads the Garat\u00e9a lunar mission, the first national initiative to send a scientific payload to the Moon, in addition to founding the startup Airvantis, which connects science, innovation, and economic development in the space sector.<\/p>\n<p>During his speech, the guest speaker highlighted that the space economy will be one of the biggest economic drivers of the future, propelled by the NewSpace movement, which democratizes access to space and creates opportunities for startups, companies, and researchers.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas explained that space exploration goes far beyond scientific research, directly impacting areas such as communication, climate monitoring, the pharmaceutical industry, and technological development: &quot;GPS, medicines, tissues, and even the internet we use daily have their foundations in space.&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Another point discussed was the importance of sustainability and innovation in large aerospace companies, which are constantly seeking new technologies to reduce costs and expand possibilities.
