On April 30th, graduating students from the Business Administration, Economics, Computer Engineering, and Production Engineering programs visited the Brazilian Stock Exchange Museum in the B3 building (formerly the S\u00e3o Paulo Stock Exchange). The B3 museum showcases the evolution of the stock exchange, which was previously known as the Commodities and Futures Exchange (1990s) and Bovespa (2000s), and also features accounts from important figures in the institution. The museum's objective is to demonstrate the history of how trading sessions and stock offerings function.<\/p>\n
The 23 students from the day and evening classes of various courses were accompanied by Professor Karen Ayala. This free activity is scheduled every semester as part of the Financial Systems and Financial Products course in the Business Administration and Economics undergraduate programs, but it is also open to students from other courses at the Faculty. Among other things, the course addresses aspects related to the Brazilian Capital Market, of which B3 is a part. <\/span><\/p>\n The coordinator of the Administration course, Professor Jos\u00e9 Guilherme Ferraz, speaks about the importance of the activity. \u201cThe technical visit is fundamental to consolidating the learning seen in the classroom by learning about the history and operation of B3. Furthermore, it becomes of general interest to all courses at ESEG, both for students interested in working in the Financial Market and for those who want a broader understanding to make better personal investments.\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n During the activity, the history of the Stock Exchange and its operation were explained, from ancient times (when, for example, there was still in-person trading) to the present day (with trading carried out exclusively via digital platforms).
